And why not? You had to see it coming. Just five short days after the first official Flash Friday comes the first official Wallpaper Wednesday. And because I’m a pushover for these things it’ll usually be a two-fer.
Both of these beauties are by Rob Randtoul from Plasma Design. The one on the left is called Canyon Gateway and is 1600×1200. The one on the right is called Furnace and is 1024×768. As always, if you enjoyed the wallpapers you found here please visit the creator’s website and pay homage.

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.

I have seen Rob’s stuff in other places as well. And Steve’s fav – Digital Blasphemy – has his stuff. Tech Guy Leo Laporte did a segment on him when I used to watch (the now defunct) Tech TV out of Canada. The Canyon Gateway wallpaper resembles that small island in Cabo San Lucas. Ahh. Cabo. Makes me want to bust out some Van Halen CD’s featuring Sammy.
Wallpaper Wednesday is good idea. Next will be ‘Music Monday’ with posts on guitars. ‘Torture Tuesday’ is sure to follow with posts on, well, anything that deserves some ridicule.
Done. Stupid javascript. Oh wait… we were having this discussion in email, not here.
Oh well… I ain’t deletin’ this comment.
How about Tuesday Blues Day? or Bloody Sunday?
Ah, yes… Sammy did sing about Cabo. Was it a drink or the name of his backup band? What exactly is in the Red Voodoo, btw?
WHERE IS ROB ?
I’ve asked him 3 times a design for a client, tried to call him 5 time, event found his personnal phone number… Nobody answers !!!
Can someone help me telling me if he still working… And/or if someone could do my artwork in decent time ?
John Dow, upseted…
John,
What artwork do you need done? The last Rob poasted on his blog was in February… did you try and get hold of him since then?
Both of the wallpapers looked stunning. I like the left one because of its features are similar to Grand Canyon. I wonder what kind of software develop such stunning wallpapers.
I would go for the one in the left, the Canyon Gateway because the sky can be seen. Though I like the way Furnace has been photographed, the different shades of the orange color.
