Yeah, I think I went over the top there, sorry. That, and to be honest, I'm not a sports kind of guy, I just don't care. But one thing I do like is poking fun at people.

Hey, dude, IT HAPPENS as Forrest Gump says. Quit sucking your thumb, stop crying, and get out of the fetal position you've been in for the last week.

I wouldn't mind the Bills putting together a perfect season... but that's not likely. I'd be happy if they just got to the big game.

I was in New Hampshire watching the game with a room filled with New Englanders. I kept quiet through most of the game, but I jumped up and shouted when that final pass floated into the end-zone. "TOUCHDOWN!", I exclaimed, hands raised in the air. Not only did the Giants win, but I won the pool as the only person who chose the Giants to win (admittedly somewhat wishfully at the time), and took home two bottles of wine.

I do not care about the Giants. I am of course a Bills fan. I realize the potential history, and would perhaps like to see that record set. Preferably by the Bills, but even more preferably not by the Patriots. Also I think Tuesday Morning Quarterback said it quite well in his column (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/080205&sportCat=nfl). To paraphrase, it is good to not have a record with an asterisk saying " *19-0, but admitted to cheating".

So, all said, I am not overflowing with joy, but pleasantly satisfied, like after a good juicy steak dinner. Now, if the Bills can put together a 19-0 season, I would be delirious.

Nobody thought anything like a perfect season was even possible anymore... what with salary caps, free agency, and all the push towards parity. That makes it the most bitter. In today's football it's just not possible to win 19 games in a single season... how many decades until we see anything like that again? I realize that the significance might escape those non-sporting folk and/or fans of that blue-ish team that plays in New Jersey (and sometimes London).

Too bad for the Pats. And since what they did this year was extraordinary - there is no chance for them next season either.

So let's get this straight, the invicible Patriots end up with a record of 18-L(osers)! I've never enjoyed a game more. What a perfect end to a perfect weekend. Stop by and gaze once again at my Eli banner . . .I'm sure it'll help ease the pain. Even the Boston Globe laments this loss, comparing it to Wakefield's toss to Boone and Buckner's miss. Ah, redemption is so sweet.
