I am glad that they remember and honor the memories, most of the time when they look at the light. Hoping for the eternal rest of those who die on that tragedy.

@Jack: I agree with your comment. Finally tracking down Bin Laden was a victory, but it will unfortunately not end because there are some groups that will continue his work. It’s a grim thought but we should pray that nothing like 9-11 ever happens again. Some precautions taken (like the aggressive luggage checks on planes) and paranoia will of course cause problems for regular citizens just going about their own business, but it would take a long time for everything to calm down again, lest the same mistakes be made again.

It’s worth being reminded of the vitriol that those attacks fostered in Americans and all law-abiding citizens who believe in freedom and the right to live a peaceful life.

At least Bin Laden was finally tracked down. It doesn’t mark the end of much, but it is still welcomed.

Well it indeed was a horrifying act,, those monster did this decade old jihad excursion, just to find out that they ain’t got no virgins they will for sure rot in hell for making those 3000 plus families suffer. Because its not just life of one person its the whole family that gets affected by such incidents.

We have to fight and fight till the last,, it has nothing to do with religion,, its a game of power to gain control of government and the world. therefore losing is not an option, we have to remain steady in our resolve to fight these extremists and terrorists.

@ Bruce – Agreed. There are plenty of Americans and other people in the world who believe “911 was an inside job!!!111″ Pretty much no reason to give them any attention whatsoever.

It’s especially ironic given that Al Qaeda and OBL admitted to the attacks multiple times – and glorified in them as well. With OBL gone, hopefully the “Truthers” won’t be far behind.

I wouldn’t let a few Europeans who make such insinuations smear all Europeans generally, especially their education system. I don’t think that’s fair and it doesn’t really serve your point. Instead, I think it would be refreshing if you took the upperhand and lauded the fact that the USA and Europe among other countries permit free speech to express our beliefs and opinions.

Also, I don’t get your reference about always being at war spiritually. Just because you practice a certain spirituality doesn’t mean you’re at war with people who practice a different spirituality. However, maybe you’re referring to a personal spiritual war – an inner conflict if you will. That could well be and if it’s the case, I have no personal knowledge of that.

Well its must be a minority of europeans who belives that it was setup be any others than terrorists. You to be a freak like Micahel Moore, to belive the either U.S. goverment, Israel or what ever mind spin he produces, set this attack up.

This is one of the most interesting pictures I’ve seen so far for remembering the twin towers. I remember the day when it happened… even hearing the suggestion that it was the USA or Israel that masterminded the whole thing makes me mad. It is quite amazing how a large portion of the world aligns itself together with the terrorists. What has this world come to?

the daughter is taking world history this semester. They are on the ancient world now. I guess they are doing Sparta on Monday (daughter just knows some wiseguy will yell out “We are Sparta” during the class) Anyway, on Thursday, they watched the History channel footage of 9/11 during class. I was thrilled until she told me it was only because another class had to play catch up and the teacher wanted them to be in the same place at the same time. ACK!!!
On another note: then we have the conspiracy theories. Do not even get me going on these fruitcakes….

I’m glad people are still remembering. Seven years has dulled the shock and outrage. And then people start to forget. They don’t forget as much as the importance of the event doesn’t register with them anymore. It’s a very sad cycle. I hope that the younger people have passion for history. Then they will look back to the battles at Tours, Constantinople, Grenada, Vienna, and New York. When they look, they will realize the Christian world has been at war with the extremist Muslims since the two worlds collided. Maybe then, people will realize that we need to do everything we can to win this war.

Great post and picture. We have been watching footage all day. I remember David was just glued to the TV all day. The older child remembers it well. The younger one doesn’t. He was an infant at the time. He is watching this raptly. I am sure there are people who would criticize me for letting an eight year old watch stuff like this, but I think he needs to know. He was expressing some desires to do something to their rearends with guns.
I have an essay up on my blog today about this day. Usually I put up a few stupid things along with something serious, but I just couldn’t do the humor thing today. If I can figure
Oh, just so you know: I make a point of not giving the kids names online. Thats why I call them kid one or kid two. Or boy or girl. It creeps me out when people blog about their kids.
