I have been reminded in a plethora of ways recently that the United States is divided. I know what you’re thinking… Gee, Einstein, did you just figure that out? But really, I don’t think it’s divided in the ways everyone else speaks of.
You’ll hear many try and characterize the red states and the blue states (red being GOP and blue being Democrat – so labelled because of the traditional colors used to “color” the states in election coverage maps).
Of course, the biggest misconception is that red staters are the “rich” and the blue staters are the “poor”. Mostly Democrats and the media like to perpetuate this… because since wealth ALWAYS follows a curve in a free nation there will ALWAYS be a larger population below the mean income than above (much the same way that there are fewer athletes making above the average salary than below). Now, the mean income is still among the richest on the planet… but let’s not let perspective cloud our relativistic tantrums. All the Democrats need to do is convince the “below average” majority that they deserve more… that it’s their “right” to have more – to have what the wealthy (and therefore, greedy) anglo-folks have been selfishly hoarding. (Ahhh… but wealth is spreading these days… more on that later.)
Much to the chagrin of the blues, and much to the surprise of the urban-fortressed media, there are A LOT of poor folks living away from the cities and deep in the rural 95% of America. It may come as a shock to you (if you’re liberal) that indeed folks do live outside of city limits. Many country folks are poor (relatively). Dare I say that the lowest incomes in the inner-cities match the lowest incomes in the rural townships. The only difference is that the rural folks don’t have a city bus to take to the voting boothes come election day… talk about disenfrachised. (I know I’ve oversimplified it, but not much)
And the seperation of wealth based on race is again misleeding indeed, because the black and hispanic upper-class are growing in numbers (and would both be growing in percentages, too, if not for illegals crossing the Rio Grande). I was in Vegas recently, and believe me, there were many people of every color, shape, size, and age imaginable. It didn’t matter if you were white or black.. you were still tossing cash around like it was dirty tissues. The upper-class “of color” (I hate that term) are growing because of hard work and determination… either reaching out into investing or starting a business or entering into some opportunistic partnerships. And I say, GREAT! That’s what happens when smart people put their minds to work and take a chance… that’s what this country is all about. And it’s a logical poem how the percentage of red staters among successful entrepeneurial blacks and hispanics is sharply higher than the average.

Thanks for doing this post. It couldn’t have been more clear. I think one thing is certain though; All the diversity that the liberals want to legally force us into accepting hasn’t occured via social engineering; it has occured due to using and understanding economics!!!!! These liberals are so stupid that on one hand, they would discuss how Blacks and hispanics are disenfranchised, yet allow such LOW standards in educating these poor “darkies”. The paternalistic, socialist based nonsense is enough to raise my blood pressure every time I see it. And I must go to SF once a week now. Yeah… one thing that I *am* starting to get encouraged about is that slowly (too slowly, but better than nothing) the good leadership in the black community are seeing their support for the liberal platform fo what it is… indentured servitude. Welfare and other socio-economic entitlements, used under the guide of “compassion”, are just slave wages used to buy inner city votes… and while Sharpton and Jesse (and that disgrace Cynthia McKinney) will still milk that cow until they die, other leaders who have their community at heart won’t continue to tolerate it.
Once we stop getting hung up on the color of our skin and get to the business of working with each other we’ll be much better off. And I know you already know that.
I agree WarAxe. The sad truth is that the heart of man is wicked and deceitful. I do not see any hope in changing the minds of thousands of libs or thousands of ignorant people. Its so disheartening to see this country go to such a low. We are dumbing down our society and the next few generations are only producing meth addicts and hoars. Remember I am looking at this from my political glasses. Sometimes I get sick of it so much that I just have to vent my freaking emotions. So put on a smile and drink that beer and live now because the Islamics are coming…the Islamics are coming. They want more than social programs. They want us dead.
