Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that
would require Congressmen, Senators and their families to participate in a socialize health care system if they vote for it. Basically, they can vote for one system for average citizens while sending their families elsewhere for medical care. In blue collar circles this is called “practice what you preach”.

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.
This is a great idea. Reminds me of not too long ago when Congress voted not to increase the minimum wage while simultaneously voting to increase their own salaries. Our government *should* practice what it preaches!

You don’t even realize that the healthcare that theyre proposing wont affect you if you already have healthcare. this plan is only for the people who cant afford healthcare. even if it was a plan for universal healthcare like canada has it would be so much better than what we have right now. I am canadian so i would know this, however, i expect i will get many responses back about how i know nothing about canada whatsoever. I liked your site for the flash games but i simply cant stand the politics. It’s ridiculous what you republicans can believe is truth.
As an example, Rush doesn’t say all of the things he does for truth. he says them because he gets paid. He makes $400 million a year! To me that is just completley ridiculous and last but not least OBAMA IS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN BORN OF HAWAII!
I have actually signed this petition. We should make them use the same health care that they vote for. They should stand by it all through their term.

The problem with the “practice what you preach” mentality in this case is that the bill they are proposing would not apply to the congressmen! So it is a mute point.
I am all for universal health care. The USA is the only “industrial” country that doesn’t have any form of it yet.
