Now’s as good a time as any to tell you about these two gems. Two CDs of guitar giants playing custom arrangements of Christmas favorites… called Merry Axemas and Merry Axemas Volume 2 (‘Axe’ is a nickname for a guitar). Whether it’s John Sykes lighting up God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman or Neil Schon rolling out O Come, O Come Emmanuel or Zakk Wylde mellowing to an acoustic White Christmas… you get some real monsters of guitar playing some classy and skillful Yuletide classics. Some of the featured artists (but not all) are: Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Richie Sambora, Steve Lukather, Ted Nugent and Al Di Meola. Bottom line, these are two of my most played Christmas CDs.
