While perusing Amazon and YouTube I found some interesting takes on Van Halen’s classic (some of which involve Diamond Dave himself).

Hey, the bluegrass arrangement was pretty cool, but I’m a little embarrassed for DLR - is he that desperate for camera time? The Aztec Camera thing is interesting - kind of a Lou Reed/Cowboy Junkies vibe…

i’ve seen roth in concert a few times, whether solo or with the original van halen. that first one with dave on the leno show is freaky. i don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I personally liked the bluegrass arrangement… I thought musically it was very well done (and since then I’ve found entire bluegrass tribute albums to Van Halen, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, and more!?).

Although, DLR did look a little weird on Leno having to sing standing in one spot and not jumping around. He looked more comfortable in front of the Boston Pops where he could move.

The Anka one was pretty classy. And I did like Cash’s NIN cover, too.
