I recently whipped up a batch of my homemade salsa and I have been asked for the recipe. Having a convenient venue for broadcasts such as this, I will now post the recipe here for any who care. I always appreciate comments and feedback.
Steve’s Homemade Salsa
Ingredients:
Four to five beefsteak tomatoes
Four to five plum tomatoes
One can whole black olives (not the tiny can)
One bunch scallions
One medium purple onion
Two habanero peppers (choose number and type of pepper based on desired heat)
2 1/2 teaspoons crushed garlic
Two tablespoons vegetable oil
Two tablespoons red wine vinegar
Two tablespoons lime juice (to taste)
One small bunch/package cilantro (to taste)
salt (to taste)
pepper (to taste)
Directions:
Hand dice tomatoes, scallions, and onion. Mix in large bowl.
Very finely dice (preferably by machine) hot peppers, olives, and cilantro. Add to bowl and mix.
Add garlic, oil, vinegar, and lime juice to bowl and mix.
Salt and pepper to taste. Add additional lime juice (carefully) and cilantro to taste.
Mix well and chill… is best after 8 hours of chilling.
Simple recipe, isn’t it? I based mine off of a friend’s. I last used cayenne peppers that I had grown myself for the hot peppers, but habanero, jalapeno and chile also work well. You may need to increase the number of peppers based on the desired heat (I like it hot!).
Enjoy!

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.

Bottle it… sell it… or just give free jars to your good friends!
My list of “good friends” would increase.
(depending on the heat content, anyway)
bring it on, hotstuff!!
