Yeah, the tour guide took a group of us all around and covered the sructures purposes and meanigs of the carvings and whatnot. However, he was Mayan by ancestry and dismissed much of the human sacrifice as being "cultural". :-)

Hopefully after the coffee house I'll have some video clips to link here. I have some clips from my other band, Hundred Monkey Theory, on my blog here.

Wow! It looks like you all had a bit of fun! I haven't made it to Cancun-only Baja. But the geographical scenery in Mexico is gorgeous! It is the other stuff that can get to you. It is trippy how the hurricane damage is still apparent. I know they got hit pretty hard. I see you are in front of Chichen Iza; that sounds so cooooool! Do they do tours and explain what the structures were used for? Did you see any Mayan heiroglyphics or anything? Well, I am sure you are tired. I am amazed that you will be playing a gig so quickly after your return! Do you have online recordings of your music? Okay I have asked enough questions. Your pictures stimulate the imagination. I wish you and Tami a good rest of week:)

No, we weren't allowed on the main structure at Chichen Itza. We heard that people used to be able to go inside but they stopped that for preservation purposes. They might start again at a later date.

Looks like a great time. We were there before the storm, so it'd be interesting to see the changes. Were you able to climb the temple at Chichen Itza? We were able to, but we had heard rumors they were going to stop letting people do that. It was a crazy climb with no rails (obviously) - not something you see in the US.
