It’s the middle of winter here in New York State, and most people associate Lake Placid with the Winter Olympics. Well, several months ago — during the warm summer respite — on a beautiful summer weekend we spent a few relaxing days in this quiet town located in the middle of the Adirondacks. I wanted to post these here much earlier, but hey… it’s been too cold.
Below are a few of the many pics I snapped, and the entire photo album is viewable at my photo gallery.

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.

Wonderful photos. The colors are so bright and crisp, it’s almost like a sensory overload!

Whoa! Those are crisp and beautiful pics! As a resident of CA I would like to think that we have a monopoly on mountain beauty, but boy am I wrong. Seems like you all had a nice time. Cool!
gorgeous pix Steve!!! We have been joking around here that CDA must be turning into Buffalo or something. In fact, your uncle Moses made a joke about that. I haven’t seen this much snow in a very very very long time. It brings back happy memories of shoveling out one’s own on street parking spot and staking it out so no one else will take it.
hope you guys are well…
Excellent photographs!
Thanks for all the comments!!! The more I play with my CanonG9 the more I love taking photos.
In Lake Placid those magenta flowers were a big challenge. They were literally SO vivid that it became tricky to not let their color desaturate the rest of the photo. I should try a little post-processing with them and see what I can concoct!
Beautiful photography as always, truly uplifting images.
