Today the people of the United States give thanks for having more purchased junk than any other people in history… and what better way to give thanks than to pound back poultry garnished with various caloric sundries of the harvest. It’s always interesting to read about how Thanksgiving got its start. We just need to remember WHO we’re supposed to give thanks to!
Today I will pray and thank God for a few things in particular:
- 1) Thank you for this undeserved, unearned life filled with health, wealth, security and ease. I pray that I do not take it for granted or begin thinking it’s the norm.
- 2) Thank you for this country without which this comfort would not be possible… that we are so richly blessed by You that even the poor here struggle with obesity (and with finding a place for their large color televisions and multiple cell phones).
- 3) Thank you for the strong leaders throughout our history that were unswayed by opinion polls and deceptive emotional sentiments.
- 4) Thank you for intelligently designing this wonder of a universe… and for all the scientific discoveries that have been tucked into its fabric like Easter eggs.
There is more that I am thankful for… but if I didn’t stop now I would exceed my service provider’s hard drive space (and so could you).

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.
