There are so many heroes… I hate that we lose so many WW2 vets each day.

My uncle died in France in 1944 at the age of 19.

I celebrated Memorial Day this year by writing a thank you letter to anyone I know who has served in our military. It felt much more patriotic than having a picnic which is the way so many people celebrate this holiday. – Tammara Acerra

Every memorial day, I put flowers on the grave of my ex-husband, a Vietnam veteran. Even though we were divorced, I like to honor his service to his country. I feel this also shows respect to our children. I hope you think so too?

Yeah, it is sad that we loose so many ww2 veterans each day. It is really interesting to listen to some of their stories from that time. Almost hard to believe that some people are actually went through stuff like this, seems more like a horror movie….

This is a beautiful photo of the Washington Monument. I have never got to do anything major for Memorial such as visiting the monument but my Memorial Day is never bad. It is usually spent with my grandfather who was in the Navy; it is nice to spend enjoyable time with a veteran for the holiday.

I’ve always loved that quote from President Reagan. It’s too bad that more people don’t take it to heart. It makes me sick when people point fingers at the members of the military instead of thanking them for their sacrifices.

Agree or disagree with the decision makers that put them in harm’s way, but how can you possibly blame someone who is risking their own life to help protect yours?
