I had blogged that I was bothered by the Texas police raid on that polygamist compound, where it seemed ludicrous that the People’s Republic of Texas could go into these private citizens’ homes on an anonymous tip and take their children away with no evidence… and even the “tip” implied that it was only the post-pubescent girls who could be being abused (which were a small percentage of the 440 children stolen… half of which were under 5)!?
Well, all the kids are currently back with their parents. Now we can actually try using due process rather than fascism… what a novel thought!?

The first thing I thought about when I read the ruling was your rant. Good show! And nice to know, at the end of the day at least, that we are still a country that is ruled by the law.
We are a country ruled by law, an excelent thing to be. But these lapses into tollatinarianism (that can’t be how you spell it, but it sounds right) are unnacceptable. We need to find a way to prevent Waco’s and YFZ Ranch raids. The only way I see is to elect sensible people, but you know that’s never going to happen.
new it.
@Mike - Yeah, it is a wee bit more comforting to know that after a couple months somebody finds a sane judicial body. I’d hate to think you’re moving to a less “free” location.
@John3Sobieski - Agreed, that’s probably never going to happen.
