I upgraded to WordPress 2.1 last night. It went fairly smooth, but I broke a few things. My plugin that manages my Amazon items is now inoperable, meaning that my cute sidebar items saying what music I’m currently listening to, etc., are now gone. Also, my sections of recommended music, movies, etc. are gone, too. [...]

I just got back from my brother-in-law’s wedding in Virginia and so I’m here patting away at these little beige keys. This has been a bit of a crazy year. I am now on new servers for Negative99 so there’ll be no more limited availabilities or shying away from blogging due to bandwidth issues… I [...]

Ok… ok… so this month has been sparse for posts. I have no good excuses, but of reasonable merit is my bandwidth predicament. You see, every website gets so much bandwidth and when you’ve depleted your monthly quota you can either pony up Hamiltons (pay more $$$) or let your site “blackout” until the quota [...]

The thing about blogs is that they are snapshots of someone’s mind (or a group mind) as a function of time. Time passes at a constant rate, yet not everyone has time to dump their mind into clever blog-sized anecdotes at a nice constant rate for the electric ether’s amusement. If you haven’t noticed, and [...]

If you haven’t read my post Blogs Aren’t For the Skittish yet then you should. I know I haven’t posted much lately, but rest assured it’s not because my mental well is dry. Much to the contrary I have more material I need to blog on than I can even remember at any one time. [...]

I love coffee. I love good coffee. I love good coffee that caters to bloggers. And, most of all, I love good coffee that caters to bloggers and supports the troops! How can it get any better? The folks at Boca Java Gourmet Coffee & Tea have put together Blogger’s Fuel.com devoted to their blogging [...]

Candor is a blogging cornerstone. If you want to blog you better have something to say and have the chutzpah to say it. Otherwise, what is the point? And if what you’re blogging poses no danger of offending someone then your content is probably devoid of any intellectually substantial thought or discourse. Have I offended [...]

Yesterday was 06/06/06, and my site was ranked 3,333 at Technorati. Coincidence? Yeah… probably. As more people use my WordPress themes my rank has been increasing… 3,333 out of 43,300,000 isn’t bad. So, you may be wondering why there’s not wallpaper here for Wallpaper Wednesday? Well… in the name of doing-my-own-thing I am going to [...]

NOTE: The following post was written after a couple very frustrating hours fighting with Internet Explorer using XHTML, CSS, and my bare hands. The ever-vigilant web stylist, Ms. Gepner, sent me a screenshot of the bad news that I knew was coming but was living in denial of. Yes, the newly released beta versions of [...]

In late October of 2005 I decided that no self-respecting holder of a Master of Science in Information Systems should be without a website. So I started a blog right here on negative99.com. It’s been six full months now that April is over. Not that numbers mean much, but here’s a little breakdown (stats as [...]
