WordPress blogging software has some features that allow people’s comments to be held for moderation by me later (rather than published instantly). BUT, it’s not always clear what constitutes the criteria. For instance, I have it set to hold any comment for my personal moderation that includes more than one hyperlink (tell-tale spam), or that includes a word contained in this HUGE list of common spam words and foul language.
However, sometimes comments that are plainly legit, and/or are from friends or family, and/or don’t seem to meet any of the above criteria are still held for moderation. I’m not sure why, and it’s annoying, but I wanted to make everyone aware. I wish I could individually grant a specific visitor “a free pass”, but WordPress doesn’t do that (yet). So if your comments are held for moderation inexplicably it’s probably not your fault.
And speaking of spam, Negative99 just passed over 150,000 spam comments caught by the great Akismet spam filter.

This is one of the problems with wordpress. Once you blog gets a bit of traffic the comment spam becomes huge.
It is unfortunate but one of the things we have to deal with!
I read about the WP plugin that helps identify spammers, based on keywords. I’d be inclined to use it, except forcing comments to be pre-moderated would just add on so much more work, IMHO…
Yeah my spam filter will often see legit comments as spam so it can be a pain sometimes, but I am glad I have a filter.

I am using a plugin that has to get verified when commenting ,like human verification so there is only limited number of spam comments and bot comments are totally stopped. you should also try , it doesn’t stop spam comments totally but minimizes a lot
