Most days I curse my swimming pool. It’s a pain… something is always breaking… it constantly needs chemicals and cleaning. Opening it is a hassle and closing it is a hassle. But on days like today – when it’s 94F and wicked humid – my little private pool is a wonderful reminder that I live in super-rich-America-land. I am luckyblessed.

I'm a Christ-follower, compelled by my faith toward reason, which points directly toward conservatism. This world's daily onslaught of lunacy offends my intellect and senses, so this is my venue to blow off steam.

Has your pool ever broken completely apart, spilling water all over the yard and needed to be rebuilt from the ground up? Thank goodness for home owner’s insurance.
@John3Sobieski
Not my current pool… but back about 15 years my folks’ pool did exactly that. Nobody was in it, but I was watching TV and all of sudden heard what sounded like thunder (which was actually folding metal). The yard was an instant pond!
